Pacific Northwest regional cuisine, creative soups, famous home baked breads and desserts.
 
Entrees include roasted rack of lamb, grilled beef tenderloin, seared ahi tuna, seafood coconut curry saute', crab cakes, spicy peanut satay, and chicken marsala. Vegan and vegetarian entrees and soups are on the menu daily, including grilled portobello mushrooms, pasta primavera, fettucine alfredo, and Caesar salad.

Every month we feature a different Washington Winery. The kick-off occurs at the First Friday Wine Tasting (during Ellensburg's First Friday Art Walk), when the winemaker is present to pour free tastes and answer questions.  Our staff is well informed about the region's wines, and can help you select the perfect wine for accompany your meal, or for purchase from our wine shop.

The winery is owned & operated by three women, known locally as the Olympic Women in Wine.  Winemaker Benoit Murat crafts Olympic Cellar's award winning wines in a uniques style that blends the best of French and American winemaking techniques.
Featured wines this month include Working Girl White, a full-bodied crisp floral blend of Chardonnay & Reisling; Handyman Red, a Bordeaux style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cab Franc; and two  award winning 2005 reds- La Dolce Vida Cabernet and the La Dolce Vida Syrah.

Goose Ridge Estate Winery 
 
Goose Ridge is a family-owned and operated winery that produces handcrafted wines from select estate-grown grapes.  The Monson family's vineyard is planted on a south facing slope in the Columbia Valley, just south of the Red Mountain AVA, which  that consistently yields rich, ripe grapes. Winemaker Charlie Hoppes is one of the most respected winemakers in the region.
 
Among the wines available for tasting at The Valley Cafe on September 5th, and as featured wines all month, try the 2004 Goose Ridge Estate Syrah, recognized with 91 points by Wine Spectator magazine.

Desert Wind Winery

Taste Desert Wind's wines on July 11th in the Take-out.  Desert Wind's wines are made with estate grown grapes from the Wahluke Slope near Mattawa.  This is truly a hot spot for wines with some of the highest heat units and best soils in the state - prime conditions for growing great cabernet sauvignon, syrah, barbera, viognier and semillon.
 
June Feature Winery:

Winemaker David Forsyth was here on June 6th to share tastes of Mercer Estates wines.  Mercer Estates is a family-owned winery devoted to producing premium wines through a partnership of the Mercer and Hogue families. Most of their wines are estate-grown, bottled and produced. This month's featured wines include the

March Featured Winery:
Milbrandt Vineyards from Mattawa, Wa.
After several years of contributing fruit to some of the finest wines in the region, in 2005 Jerry & Butch Milbrandt decided toproduce their own wine as well as custom bottle fornewer startup wineries and thus started The Wahluke Wine Co. in Mattawa. They own and farm 10 different sites that total 1600 acres, mostly on the Wahluke Slope around Mattawa and to the East of Mattawa. 600 acres are located just north of the Gorge Amphitheater in the proposed Ancient Lakes AVA region. This is a higher altitude site that is a little cooler and is where a lot of their whitegrape varieties are grown, including Riesling that goes into St. Michele's Eroica. The end result is
that the Milbrandt's grow great grapes and their first
vintage of their own wines have garnered great reviews
from the wine press.

Bunnell Family Cellars
Prosser, Washington
Bunnell Cellars was in the wine shop on Friday January 4th. Bunnel produces syrah and other Rhone varietals and has received good press and high ratings. We offered tastes of Bunnell's RiverAerie 2006 Pinot Gris, 2005 "a pic" which is a red Rhone blend, RiverAerie 2006 Barbera, RiverAerie 2005 Fete, and Boushey-McPherson Vineyard 2005 Syrah. Before starting his own winery Ron Bunnell was a winemaker at Chateau Ste. Michelle, Beringer, Chateau Souverain, and Kendall-Jackson.

Saint Laurent
classic approachable wines
Malaga, Washington
Saint Laurent was here on Friday December 7th.  People really enjoyed talking with winery owners Mike & Laura Mracher.  Saint Laurent was named 2007 Washington Winery to Watch by Wine Press Northwest. They provided complimentary pours of 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon (Wine Spectator 90 pts), 2004 Syrah (Wine Spectator 91 pts), 2004 Chardonnay, and 2004 Lucky Red "a playful yet serious wine for the millennial generation."
 
November Featured Winery:
Dunham Cellars, Walla Walla
Eric Dunham was here November 2nd, offering tastes during the First Friday Wine event.  Stop in for his 2004 Columbia Valley Syrah, 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon X, and the 2005 Shirley Mays Chardonay among others.
